What are the slide’s opening hours?

Why should I buy my tickets online?

By purchasing your tickets online, you can save time at the ticket office. You’ll also receive valuable information about the activity and be the first to know by email if the slide closes due to bad weather.

 

Can I buy multiple tickets at once and share them with friends or family?

Yes!

 

When is the season’s quietest period with the shortest wait times?

From January 5 to 31, 2026, enjoy the calmest period of the year — especially on weekdays and evenings. Often, there’s no line at all! It’s the perfect time to enjoy multiple rides and make the most of the experience.

 

How can I get an idea of the estimated wait time?

When purchasing tickets online, an icon appears next to each date to give an estimated wait time based on our statistics. Please note that wait times cannot be guaranteed, but we do everything to make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible!

 

Can I get a refund due to long wait times between rides?

Au 1884 Inc. cannot guarantee wait times between rides, and no refunds are available for this reason. To make the most of your experience, follow our recommendations and avoid buying too many tickets at once during peak periods.

 

How do I get the hot chocolate I purchased with my e-tickets?

Once our team validates your e-tickets, you’ll receive a coupon for your hot chocolate. Simply visit the Au 1884 service counter at the base of the slide and exchange your coupon for a delicious, well-deserved hot chocolate — no need to wait in line!

 

What happens to my tickets if the slide closes for the day due to bad weather?

We do everything we can to keep the slide open. If an exceptional closure occurs, online ticket holders for that date will receive an email explaining the situation.

Your tickets will then automatically be valid for the next 7 days, so you can fully enjoy the experience. If you cannot visit us within this period, send us an email at info@au1884.ca with your confirmation number to change your ticket date or request a full refund. (Tickets already used cannot be refunded.)

 

How can I know if the slide is closed due to bad weather?

Under what conditions might the slide close temporarily?

For safety reasons, the slide may close temporarily in the event of heavy rain, snowstorms, strong winds, or ice.

 

How can I know if the slide will be open on a specific date?

Weather permitting, the slide is open every day from December 6, 2025, to March 22, 2026. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for live updates: @au1884

How can I change the date of my ticket?

Email us at info@au1884.ca at least 48 hours before the date on your ticket. Be sure to include your confirmation number so we can process your request quickly. Date changes are subject to approval to ensure the best experience for all our guests.

 

If a date is unavailable online, can tickets still be purchased?

Yes! We gradually release tickets online on the same day, and tickets can always be purchased on-site.

 

What are the best conditions for a super-fast ride?

For an ultra-fast slide, the best days are cold and snow-free. Get ready for an even more thrilling descent! In any conditions, riding multiple people (up to 4) on one sled is the best way feel the speed.

 

Can I take photos and videos during the ride?

Yes! You can take photos and videos during your ride. Just make sure not to delay operations and hold your device securely. Au 1884 Inc. is not responsible for lost or damaged equipment, but we encourage you to capture your memorable moments safely! Share them with us on social media: @au1884

 

Are food and drinks available on-site?

Yes! Stop by the Au 1884 café at the base of the slide. Enjoy a wide selection of sandwiches, snacks, and pastries — perfect for recharging after the fun! Warm up after your rides with our selection of hot drinks — our hot chocolate is a must-try!

 

Is parking available on-site?

Paid parking is available in Old Québec, including at the city hall nearby. For the best experience, we recommend using public transit or peripheral parking lots.

 

Can I bring my own sled?

No. Sleds are provided and are specially handcrafted for the slide activity.

 

Can I bring my pet?

The slide and sleds are designed for humans only.

 

Can a child under 10 ride with an older child?

Yes! A child under 10 can ride with an older child. Just make sure the older child can handle pulling the sled to the top of the slide.7

 

Is a snow pant required?

While recommended for comfort, snow pants are not mandatory.

 

Do I need to wear a helmet?

No.

 

Can I ride with a purse or backpack?

Generally, yes. Check with our on-site team if you are unsure about the size of your items or the space available in the sled.
